NEP The Netherlands’ Remote Commentary solution won theSVG Europe Sport Production Award for Outstanding Technical Achievement, Audio and was a finalist for an IABM BaM™ Award award for Project, Collaboration orEvent. NEP’s Mediabank product was a finalist for an IBC2018 Innovation award for Content Distribution and NEP Finland was a finalist in the ContentEverywhere category.

“At NEP, one of our core values is client-driven innovation, and we are entirely committed to developing new technology that solves real-world challenges and delivers exceptional results. It’s wonderful to have our work recognized by the industry at such an important show,” says NEP’s CEO Kevin Rabbitt. “It is a privilege for us to collaborate with our clients, and to work together to push the industry forward. The true honor for us, though, will always be in delivering for our clients every day on projects around the globe.”

NEP The Netherlands, along with their partners at Discovery, have been recognized for their work on the OlympicWinter Games PyeongChang 2018using the NEP Remote Commentary solution. This solution was used to handle the content localization by automatically detecting and fixing lip sync offsets between the video and audio feeds of sports commentators sharing live-action highlights from multiple venues, and to fix incorrect formats and wrong audio channel mapping. Once the audio was automatically mixed and synchronized, NEP encoded the video and audio feeds to distribute the content onto the Eurosport Player platform, the direct-to-consumer streaming service from Eurosport, Discovery’s leading sports brand. As a result, sports fans could watch their favorite sport with localized commentary for 13concurrent event feeds with up to 9 local languages per event feed. NEP Mediabank, along with their partners at Discovery, were recognized for their work to create the first ever cloud-based media asset management system for the Olympic WinterGames PyeongChang 2018. Mediabank’s media asset management solution facilitated live MCR, ingest, craft editing of highlights, automated clip generation, storage of content, distribution of live content and clips, a signal hub, an audio matrix and 24/7monitoring and support for over 12,000 hours of Olympic content. Out of 45submissions in the Content Distribution category of the IBC Innovation Awards, Mediabank/Discovery was one of three solutions shortlisted. Previously, Medibank took home an IABM BaM™ Award at the2018 NAB Show. For more information on this solution, click here.

NEP Finland was recognized alongside their client, WRCPromoter GmbH, for their work on the ALL Live solution for the FIA World RallyChampionship. This solution enabled them to show every special stage from each round as it happened – more than 25 hours of coverage in total – at each rally as a continuous live stream. Out of 23 submissions in the Content Everywhere category of the IBC Innovation Awards, ALL Live was one of only three solutions shortlisted.  For more information on this solution, click here.
